Jennifer Reynolds Writes

About Jennifer Reynolds

Jennifer Reynolds grew up in Augusta, Georgia.  Her mother taught her to love God and books from an early age.  Her love of cats seems to have developed all on its own.  All three of her passions have found their way into her professional life.  A pet sitter for over ten years, Jennifer owns and operates her own pet sitting company while finding time to write and celebrate God’s influence in her life.

At the age of five, Jennifer had her first experience with depression and anxiety in what would eventually become a twenty year battle.  Despite the assistance of several excellent counselors and even prescriptions, she never found the total relief she was looking for.  After years of struggle, she found herself questioning why a God who loved her would let her suffer.  “I just couldn’t accept that the darkness I experienced was what God had intended for me,” she says.  “I thought I must be missing something somewhere.”

She threw all her energies into getting well.  She poured herself into prayer, Bible study and reflection and with God’s help discovered a new way to live that was the answer to overcoming her depression and anxiety.

After speaking at her church about her experiences, she discovered a high demand for help with similar mental health issues.  She wrote Rise, a Bible study to help others learn what she learned so they too might be free from the crippling effects of depression and anxiety.

The first time Rise was offered as a class it filled up in less than twenty minutes.   It has spawned Risen, a special worship service dedicated to celebrating God’s healing in depression and anxiety and Jennifer is contacted regularly to lead more classes.  Jennifer lives in Augusta, Georgia with her husband Brian, a dog and four cats.
